FutureNow re-assignment of industry sectors from July 1 2024
The West Australian government has restructured the remit of industry training councils to align with the industry groupings under the Commonwealth Jobs and Skills Councils. Effective from July 1st, this change means that FutureNow will no longer be working with the Sport, Fitness, Recreation, Technology, Print, and Racing and Equine sectors.
I would like to express my gratitude to our industry, education, and training stakeholders from these sectors for engaging with FutureNow’s work over many decades and for the generous collaboration that has ensued. It has been a privilege to work with you and learn from you.
FutureNow will continue to work with the creative industries as well as the tourism, travel, hospitality, and events sectors. Additionally, we will now be providing workforce development and skills advice for retail, community pharmacy, hairdressing and barbering, floristry, beauty, and funeral services. We warmly extend an invitation to our new industry sectors to partner with us on workforce and skills development. We are excited to explore the evolving workforce skills within these organizations and occupations and look forward to providing strategic advice to stakeholders and government on practical immediate and long-term solutions. FutureNow’s focus will continue to be on supporting industries that are critical to economic growth, social cohesion, and cultural development.
